Doagh / Burnside Hallowe'en Party

Burnside and Doagh join to organise Annual Hallowe’en Party

Burnside and District Community Group and Doagh Village Community Association have again pooled resources to organise their Children’s Halloween Junior and Senior Parties in the Torrens Hall in Doagh.

The events, which took place on Saturday evening, were attended by scores of youngsters and their parents from both communities.

After a disco and some games the young people who attended were treated to a captivating Magic Show, presented by local renowned magician Trevor Price. This was followed by a Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Competition for each of the junior and senior sections and traditional party fayre.

Both the Doagh and Burnside committees were pleased at the high turnout at the events and felt that this success was due to the groups working together to organise and share responsibilities for the various tasks involved.

The groups would also like to voice their appreciation to the following agencies for their help and support in ensuring the success and smooth running of the events: Newtownabbey Borough Council, PSNI and the staff of Doagh and Kilbride Primary Schools.

It is hoped by both committees that they can continue to implement and develop this collaborative approach to the organisation and resourcing of future projects which can be used to the benefit of both communities and the surrounding areas.
